Overview:

TREK Outdoors emerged out of a grant funded, therapeutic forest school pilot program under AdventureMe Forest and Nature School in Black Forest, Colorado.  Upon seeing the benefits of an outdoor learning environment in children diagnosed with sensory processing disorder and autism, Tamara Wineland saw an opportunity to improve outcomes for children with additional needs through the formation of a more integrated and specialized delivery of forest school.  The first peer integrated sessions took place in the Fall of 2022, under the supervision of Regan Krimm, MOTR/L, and Lara Dykhuis, MA, CCC-SLP.

TREK Outdoors will carry on and expand the delivery of therapeutic forest edventures across the country through connection, mentorship, and funding for programs seeking to increase access to nature-based programs.

Vision: To create and promote a mainstream combined approach of evidence-based and nature-based therapeutic practices through supportive, integrated, accessible outdoor experiences to build lasting friendships, confidence, sense of self, and resilience in ALL children.
